As part of the process adopted by the Board of Out of the Box, together with the Pool of Experts during a series of meetings in Novi Sad, a draft of the new manifesto, concerning the years 2021-2025 has been presented for review.
The aim of the Out of the Box Manifesto is to address several trends, policy responses and projects within the Out of the Box International network.
One of the crosscutting issues that will be tackled is the lack of cross-sectoral cooperation at all levels in building innovative citizenship-centered policies across Europe. Furthermore, we aim to address the shortcomings of representative democracy and investigate the mechanisms that need to be set in place in order to secure a stronger city/local level. In addition, we will look into the negative tendencies of integration and inclusion so as to develop countering actions directed at enhancing social cohesion. Moreover, we will put anthropocentrism, climate crisis emergency and the demand for climate justice in the core of our strategy to contribute to the development of a new generation, with a new lifestyle and a new level of energy-awareness. Finally, our action will be streamlined towards emergency situations such as COVID-19 both in terms of positive tendencies like solidarity and the negative ones such as the lack of transparency and political manipulations in many countries.
Main key result areas for the 2021-25 period are development of the “out of the box” policies for the re-humanization, including support to critical thinking, active citizens, creativity, empathy and interculturality.
Key result areas (4)
- Alternative democracies
- Fresh ideas for social cohesion & solidarity policies
- Economy with social mission
- Sustainability incubator
Each key result area will have a related Working Group mandated to develop the positions and policy papers outlining the advocacy targets of the Network.
