We kicked off another amazing project!
The aim of the Choose life project is to raise awareness about drug abuse and prevention among young people.
What will we do?
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of youth perspectives on psychosocial well-being (analysis step).
- Implement a drug abuse prevention program aimed at supporting young people at risk of social exclusion through non-formal learning and leisure activities.
- Equip youth workers from grassroots organisations, social workers, and non-formal educators with skills empowering them to engage in drug-prevention initiatives.
- Empower youth representatives to contribute to youth social welfare policies, establishing a local council that facilitates meaningful dialogue with local governments and EU institutions.
- Raise community awareness about evidence-based prevention methods for youth drug-related risky behaviours, promote healthy leisure activities, and highlight the need for strong youth-centred social welfare policies.
Youth drug (ab)use is at critically high levels across the EU, posing a complex social and public health challenge. Choose-life will address this issue by promoting youth participation, focusing on psychosocial well-being, education, and inclusion, offering preventive strategies instead of punitive measures to support those at risk of social exclusion and substance dependency.
This project is implemented by 8 partners: CESIE ETS and LIBERA PALERMO (Italy), RIGHTCHALLENGE (Portugal), ZWIAZEK HARCERSTWA POLSKIEGO, CHORAGIEW GDANSKA (Poland), Out of The Box International (Belgium), KMOP (Greece), CARDET (Cyprus), WESTERN BALKANS INSTITUTE (Serbia) and funded under ERASMUS-YOUTH-2024-YOUTH-TOG call.
We are looking forward to implementing this amazing project in the next 2 years.
