Choose Life Manual
The Choose-Life Manual is a practical-theoretical guide designed to support
professionals working with young people in the field of drug prevention.
Rooted in the broader Choose-Life project — an initiative aiming to co-create youth-led,
community-based prevention strategies — this manual helps bridge the gap between research and real-world practice.
The manual is structured in seven thematic chapters, each focused on a key aspect of
effective drug prevention. It is designed to be modular: chapters can be used
independently or together, depending on your goals, setting, and the needs of the young people you work with.
Each chapter includes:
Clear, inclusive explanations of theoretical models and core concepts;
Real-world examples and case studies from a range of cultural and socioeconomic contexts;
Practical tools and ready-to-use activities for workshops, group work, or one-on-one settings;
Reflection questions and professional development prompts to encourage critical thinking and growth;
Ethical and culturally responsive guidance, promoting non-judgmental engagement and respect for diversity.
Manual is available in English and French.
