The results will be announced in March 2025!
Selected Best practices will be published on the ICALL project webpage as a booklet of good practices and disseminated through European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD) communication channels and events.
This call is addressed to:
- Local authorities (Municipalities, Local Governments, Secretariats, and other local-level structures responsible for coordinating and implementing social cohesion, diversity, leisure, cultural and inclusion activities).
- Service Providers (Access to quality inclusive service, person-centred care, NGOs, volunteering associations and leisure centres)
- PwDs advocates and representatives
“Community development is intended to empower community members and create stronger and more connected communities. Community development is a holistic approach grounded in principles of empowerment, human rights, inclusion, social justice, self-determination and collective action (Kenny & Connors, 2017)[1]. Disability Inclusion in Community Development is defined as a multi-sectoral approach for the inclusion of women and men and girls and boys with disabilities in their local communities[2].”
“An inclusive community is a community that over-rides differences of race, gender, class, generation, and geography and ensures inclusion, equality of opportunity as well as capability of all members of the society to determine an agreed set of social institutions that govern social interaction. (Expert Group Meeting on Promoting Social Integration, Helsinki, July 2008).”[3]
The selection of Good practices will be done by an international peer-review committee. These will be assessed based on the following parameters:
- Innovation: Is this practice innovative? Does it look into creative and new ways the beneficiary’s lives will be improved? Does it include any fund innovations?
- Impact: Is it impactful? Does it have measurable success in enabling accessibility for persons with disabilities?
- Scalability: Does it have the potential of replicating the project on a large scale?
