As part of project activities, Out of the Box International, together with partners from Belgium, UK, Serbia and North Macedonia have successfully implemented a TC for youth workers and youth radio practitioners.
The 5-day training activity for youth workers and youth radio practitioners was aimed towards supporting them to develop competences to use the radio in youth work. The main idea of the TC was to eventually develop an integrated and adaptable methodology (approach and tools) for using radio in making the voices of young people heard. As follow up, the participants will have the chance to apply their newly gained SKAs through workshops for youth workers in their communities at local and national level. The training was carried out online in cooperation of all partners and was based on non-formal education. Furthermore, the training was based on a previously compiled set of programme guidelines (YOUth on AIR Toolkit), devised by the project expert team and created based on modern patterns of education, such as NFE, active learning, tailored to special learning needs and styles of participants, new technologies, innovative combination of practical and theoretical knowledge, etc.
“YOUth on AIR – developing active participation and intercultural dialogue among youth through online media tools” – is a 12-month strategic partnership project aimed at developing the quality of support systems for youth activities and the capabilities of civil society organisations in the youth field through using digital radio as the main tool. The project intends to strengthen and build – through training and exchange of good practices – competences of young people in digital media and practice their right for freedom of expression by providing space for youngsters from different ethnic and religious backgrounds to jointly partake in a learning activity that will enhance their digital skills, knowledge and capacities.
