Youth Agoras – Bridging Generations and Empowering Citizenship Across Europe
Funded by ERASMUS-YOUTH-2025-CB and coordinated by Out of the Box International (BE), Youth Agoras brings innovative democratic practices to the Western Balkans. Inspired by the ancient agora, the project will establish modern democratic hubs where young people and citizens can engage in dialogue, advocacy, and community action. Operating in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Albania, the project will directly empower 51 youth and youth workers, influence eight local political actions, and impact more than 5,000 people—bridging generations and strengthening democracy.
Specific objectives:
1. Equipping young people with practical skills such as advocacy, public speaking, and digital literacy through tailored youth democracy Y-Agoras in five countries.
2. Promoting mutual understanding and cooperation between youth and older generations through structured dialogues and joint civic initiatives, i.e. Agoras.
3. Reactivating youth participation in decision-making processes by providing accessible platforms like democracy hubs, mentoring sessions, and public events.
4. Enabling youth to design and implement two impactful local actions in each country, addressing specific community needs and influencing policy.
5. Sharing project outcomes through visual identity, media campaigns, and events like local democracy festivals, ensuring replication and long-term impact.
