The project “Honeycomb of Participation in National Level Youth Organizations” addressed one of the key issues in national-level youth organizing: the aspect of real, effective and meaningful participation, quality management and outreach. From January till December 2015, Out of the Box International closely cooperated with Center for Intercultural Dialogue in Macedonia (Lead Partner), CIM Horyzonty (Poland) and TOG (Turkey) with the aim to strengthen the capacity and sustainability of youth organisations by developing the competences of their democratic leadership and management structures for national level operations. The project was realised under the programme: Erasmus+, Key Action 2 Strategic Partnership in the field of Youth.
In addition to developing a common understanding of the concepts related to democratic leadership in national level youth organizations, other objectives of the programme included raising participants’ awareness about the value of youth structures – their role and impact as democratic leaders within society, as well as developing participants’ understanding and knowledge of various forms of youth participation. Furthermore, participants were supported in analyzing and developing both their own leadership, civic competences and relevant management skills and their organizations’ internal processes and mechanisms in order to strengthen their work as national level youth organizations.
Besides aiming at producing an internal change in youth organizations’ work, the final outcomes of the project include a publication on ‘State of Play of National Level Youth Organisatons’ and a Training Kit on Organizational Management.
