Supported by the programme Erasmus+, Key Action 2 Strategic Partnership in the field of Youth, the project ‘Democratic governance in youth organization – key to participation’ sought to strengthen the capacity and sustainability of youth organizations by developing the competences of their democratic leadership and management structures in order for them to be able to grow sustainably. From September 2015 until November 2016 OTB worked closely with JUB-(Netherlands) as the Lead Partner, Center for Intercultural Dialogue (Macedonia) and TOG (Turkey) with the aim to strengthen the internal communication among the volunteers, youth workers and employees within the organizations, which would affect the impact of their work.
In addition, the objectives of the project were to develop participants’ ability to relate the work of their organizations with youth policy and provide them with up-to-date research (study) on youth organizations management. Furthermore, the project sought to develop participants’ understanding and knowledge of various forms of youth participation through youth organizations and their applicability for the management of a youth organizations, as well as to provide them with ICT tools for online youth participation, better communication and coordination to stimulate their growth.
The project provided a Research on Motivation of Young people to participate in youth organisations, and a Toolkit on Concepts of online youth participation and E-democracy in national youth organizations.
